Progress 8 score

The DfE was not able to calculate Progress 8 scores for academic years 2024/25 and 2025/26. This is because there was no KS2 assessment data available to calculate the baseline for Progress 8 for these years due to Covid-19 disruption.

Attainment 8

Schools get a score based on how well pupils have performed in up to 8 qualifications.

This score is based on up to 8 qualifications including English, maths, three English Baccalaureate qualifications including sciences, computer science, history, geography and languages, and three other additional approved qualifications.

In 2025, our pupils achieved an Attainment 8 score of 39.5 compared with an average of 46 nationally.

Staying in education or entering employment

This shows the number of pupils who either stayed in education or went into employment after finishing key stage 4 (after year 11, usually aged 16).

93% of our pupils stayed in education or entered employment after finishing key stage 4, compared with 91% nationally.

Grade 5 or above in English and maths GCSEs

The percentage of pupils who achieved grade 5 or above in English and maths GCSEs combined.

GCSEs are graded 1 (low) to 9 (high). Grade 5 is a similar level of achievement to a high grade C or low grade B in the old grading.

In 2025, 33% of pupils achieved grade 5 or above in English and maths GCSEs compared with 45.4% nationally.

Entering EBacc

A pupil is considered to have entered for the English Baccalaureate if they entered for qualifications in English, maths, sciences, a language and either history or geography.

In 2025, 21.6% of pupils entered the English Baccalaureate.

EBacc average point score (APS)

The EBacc average points score calculates a pupil’s average point scores across the five pillars of the English Baccalaureate.

In 2025, our pupils’ EBacc average point score was 3.46.

Progress measure

These figures tell you how much progress students made between the end of key stage 4 and the end of their sixth form studies, compared to similar students across England. These scores are also known as ‘value added’ scores.​

In 2025, our progress score was 0.08, comparable to the average across all schools in England.

Average points score (APS) and average grade

These figures tell you the average grade and average points that students achieved. A maximum of 50 points are available for top grades.

In 2025, our vocational pathway students achieved a Distinction and average points score of 30.88, both above local and national averages.

Retention

The percentage of pupils retained to the end of the core aim of their study programme.

Student destinations after 16-18

This shows the number of pupils who progressed into education, apprenticeships or employment.

86% of our 2023 leavers remained in education or went into employment, compared with 79% nationally.
