Opening Doors to the Future: Year 8 & 9 Students Step Inside KPMG
Published: Mon 12 October 2026Last week, 50 students from Year 8 and Year 9 experienced their first taste in the corporate world when they visited the London Office of KPMG.
The students participated in a workshop called ‘Opening Door’. This is a project run by KPMG to inspire the next generation into a Career within either Financial Advisory, Auditing, Consulting Deal Advisory and Sustainability.
It was the latter that was the focus of the day. Students had to use a selection of Soft Skills from Skillsbuilder, including, Teamwork, Problem Solving, Speaking, Listening and Planning in a bid to secure the economy of a town, based in Brazil, following a plane crash. Students had to deliver presentations justifying their choices and actions.
Students learnt from 3 KPMG employees regarding the types of jobs and projects undertaken at the leading advisory group. The message was simple, Qualifications are important, however, those with the best use of soft skill and interpersonal skills are highly regarded for careers at KPMG.
Watch this space, we could have the next Alan Sugar in this school!!
