Yesterday, 15th June, the Stelios Philanthropic Foundation, alongside Director of Sixth Form Jim Goldsmith, had the privilege of interviewing Year 13 students from London Nautical, City of London Academy for the opportunity to be awarded one of two scholarships funded by Sir Stelios Haji-Ioannou and his Foundation. This is the 3rd year that we have had students benefit from this truly generous scholarship.
The bursaries offer £15,000 towards tuition fees for students pursuing Engineering, Law, Maritime or Business-related degrees at university. Previous winners of this coveted award have progressed to Bayes Business School, University of Warwick, St George’s City University to name a few.
The standard of candidates was exceptional. We had ambitious, talented young people who demonstrated academic excellence, resilience, and a clear vision for their future.
Selecting the final recipients will be very difficult. Each student who took part should be proud of how they represented themselves and their school. For over 100 years, London Nautical School has been helping young people achieve their full potential in the heart of London. It was inspiring to see this tradition of excellence reflected in today’s candidates.
