The global starts with the local

In the latest issue of Navigating Uncertain Times: The Role of Citizenship Education, Alison Jewitt, Head of Citizenship at London Nautical, has published her article, The Global Starts with Local.

Alison wanted to write to share with readers inspiration about local active citizenship projects from her students in her school, and to consider what to do when the local is very broad, giving some useable activities to help teachers.

Alison has been actively involved with the Association for Citizenship Teaching for several years, contributing to its handbook on active citizenship. She was also recognised with a teaching award last year, regularly delivers sessions for PGCE trainees, and was invited to write for the journal in recognition of her expertise.

Congratulations to Alison on this well-deserved achievement. We are proud to see her expertise and passion for citizenship education recognised through this publication.
